Learning Opportunities

Dr. Pamela Adams, is an Associate Professor at the University of Lethbridge, studying school improvement and educational leadership for more than 20 years.

In 2009, Dr. Adams co-authored a book with David Townsend, entitled The Essential Equation: A handbook for school improvement. Her recent book with authors Carmen Mombourquette and David Townsend is entitled Leadership in Education: The power of generative dialogue (2019).

Dr. Carmen Mombourquette was a K to 12 Teacher, Vice Principal, Principal and Headmaster for close to 30 years. He has always been passionate about school leadership and its impact on student learning. In July of 2010 Dr. Mombourquette began a new phase of his career when he accepted a tenure track position with the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge. Now, as an Associate Professor, he spends his time teaching primarily in the Master of Education in Educational Leadership Program where, along with his colleagues, he is helping to educate the next generation of school leaders. His research interests include leadership at the school and divisional levels, school organization and its impact on student learning, student assessment and evaluation, and single gender education. His publications and presentations include books, articles, and book chapters on school leadership, instructional, leadership, gender and its impact on student performance, parental influence on student success, and the impact of assessment policies on student performance.
