This self-paced, online course is approximately 2 hours in length. Once you have registered, you will be emailed a link to the course the first Friday following the date of your registration and you can complete the course at your own pace. 

At your worksite, on-going inspection of procedures, processes and equipment can help to identify problems before they cause an incident. This course will help you identify hazardous conditions and practices and confirm that standards are being met at your workplace.

  • Discuss OH&S legislation regarding inspection and observation
  • Understand inspection standards and the value of work-site-specific inspections
  • Know the roles of supervisors and workers in inspections
  • Learn to observe work practices as well as work-site conditions
  • Apply appropriate feedback and follow-up techniques to act on inspection and observation results
  • Edit and/or develop inspection tools for use in your own work

This course also qualifies Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

This course may be eligible for 0.2 CEUs for Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) – Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD Program) for the purpose of recertification in maintaining the BCRSP certification.
