The Northwest Regional Learning Consortium is partnering with Alberta Science Network to bring a full day of grade 2 and 3 science PD to Grande Prairie and area teachers. Join us for a combined 8 hours of science professional development. Jeffrey Newton PhD., joins us from Edmonton and Ed Kusmirski P.Eng., from Calgary to individually present workshops covering 8 of the 10 grade 2 and 3 curriculum units. The sessions will be presented concurrently during the day according to the (above / below / attached) schedule.
ASN’s Teacher Workshops program has been running since 1998 in Calgary and was introduced in Edmonton in 2015. The program is popular and valuable especially to new teachers or teachers new to a grade level. ASN began partnering with Alberta regional consortium in 2016 and ran selected workshops in Red Deer through CARC. Workshops through SAPDC followed in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat in 2017.
The ASN Teacher Workshops program provides teachers with hands-on demonstrations and experiments that they can use in their classrooms. ASN focuses on the theory behind the science and gives teachers confidence and clarity in the subject matter.
