Series 1 - Reclaiming Our Stories: Mamawhitowin “Live the Learning with Richard VanCamp”

Workshop 1-November 2

In this first of 3 , 1 hour  hilarious and empowering workshops, best-selling author and internationally renowned storyteller, Richard Van Camp will share with you how he recorded 24 Elders' miracle stories (which you will receive as a gift) and he will will guide you through a process to start recording your own family, Elder and Knowledge Keeper stories in your own community. Why not use this time during the pandemic to reclaim the recipes, techniques, knowledge and know-how of your family and those you respect for the good family medicine that you can share for future generations?

Workshop 2-November 9

In our second workshop, Richard will conduct a class for all ages titled "Reclaiming Star Knowledge and Moon Knowledge From Your Community." Get ready for a gorgeous love story about the stars and his family and feel free to share your family stories and knowledge, too.

Workshop 3-November 16

In the third, and final workshop of the series, "Reclaiming Your Community Calendar", Richard will share his community calendar from Fort Smith, NWT, and he'll talk about how we can use this time of reflection and pause to start documenting the seasonal round of what's happening in and outside of your community, and, at the same time, honouring those who know what's happening with the wildlife around you.
