TARGET AUIDENCE: GRADE 3-12 TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Join us for this two-part webinar and learn how to implement this short, daily, research-based remedial reading activity designed to improve fluency, sight word vocabulary, and passage comprehension. Precision Reading enables students from grades three to twelve with low/poor reading abilities to make progress quickly and efficiently.  This program was created by Dr. Rick Freeze, professor at the University of Manitoba.

Part 1: An overview of the Dr Rick Freeze’s insights as well as reading research that led to the creation of the program.

Part 2: Explore how to implement the core strategy (one-on-one instructional activity that takes less than ten minutes a day to implement). Support strategies and screening strategy to provide insight into student’s comprehension of passages.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
