Debra Giebelhaus-Maloney
A Canadian Orff leader, clinician, teacher trainer, educator, and a past president of Carl Orff Canada, Debra is a child advocate committed to excellence in music education.
Debra holds a B.FA, B.Ed, and M.Ed, and her current role as a consultant includes designing and developing music, drama, language, arts-infused ELL programs, sensory arts and cross-curricular programs for school boards, universities, and music organizations internationally.
Debra adjudicates choral, drama and speech arts, provides professional development for teachers and delivers Artist in Residency programs for students from preschool to Grade 12.
Two of Debra’s commissions include Listen to the Children, a compilation of English and Inuktitut children’s stories written with the children in Nunavik, Quebec and a series of four early childhood children’s concerts for the California Orange County Pacific Symphony and Youth Orchestra.
