A general overview of what FASD looks like will be shared; as well as a brief touch on everyone’s role in prevention. The FASD Diagnostic Clinic Process will be explained. From there, we will move into a more comprehensive look at strategies and re-framing our thinking about FASD. We will spend time reviewing the 8 Magic Keys, as well as doing group activities to develop specific individual plans.

Grace Hussey

Grace Hussey was born and raised in a small town in Newfoundland where her love for music flourished. Grace began playing drums at the age of 4, and developed a passion for hand drums in her 20’s. Grace gained a degree in social work and specializes in the fields of addiction and mental health, and her love of music has not faded. Grace has become a certified Integrated Drum Circle Facilitator using techniques from Remo Health Rhythms. Over the last few years, Grace has been bringing her passion for helping others and music together through recreational and therapeutic drum circle facilitation in the Grande Prairie area. Grace is excited to bring fun, laughter and connection to the North as she continues her musical journey working with people of all ages and ability levels.

Jen Duperron- Trydal

As an FASD Instructional Coach for the region, Jen Duperron-Trydal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has been employed with the Northwest Peace FASD Network since 2014 and has held the roles of FASD Community Resource Advocate as well as FASD Diagnostic Clinic Coordinator. During this time, Jen has presented about FASD at numerous Educational Conferences/Conventions over the years. In the past, Jen was also employed for over a decade within various school systems (including High Schools, Elementary Schools, an Alternate School, and a College).
