Learning Opportunities

S.E.E. Support’s 4 day workshop is for participants of all skill levels.  Workshops are tailored to the skills and needs of the participants.

Beginners will be introduced to the system’s basic principles, learn the alphabet and practice numbers.  Vocabulary will be taught and used in short phrases.  Visual features will be taught and incorporated into the practiced phrases and a short story, song of poem.

Those who are not beginners will be taught new vocabulary and strategies for improving vocabulary and developing good signing practices.  Visual features will be discussed and appropriately incorporated in to all signing.  Signers will have lots of opportunity to practice receptive and expressive skills in conversation, short stories or paragraphs, and songs.  Fingerspelling strategies will be discussed and practiced.  For more advanced signers, interpreting skills will be developed and strategies and best practices discussed.
